Powered by some of the least polluting engines in the world, Peugeot's 2008 compact SUV starts at a bargain £13,615, though the best-selling 100hp 1.6 diesel costs £17,215. A mid-life facelift has given it real presence and with easy folding rear seats and Grip Control for muddy fields the 2008 will fit very nicely into a lot of people's lives. The interior has a real quality look and feel but models do get pricey as you venture further up the range.
