Fiat presents the New Scudo electric transporter

Fiat has now presented the New Scudo, which was announced at the end of October. The carmaker has also opened the order books for the electric transporter. The New Scudo is the second commercial vehicle from Fiat Professional that is available in an electric version.

The New Scudo, based on the Stellantis mid-van platform, is available with a 100% electric powertrain (or with a last generation diesel engine). The New Scudo thus becomes Fiat Professional's second commercial vehicle also available in an electric version, joining the E-Ducato, launched in April this year.

The manifesto for the Scudo’s “uncompromising” approach lies in the features of the electric version, with a best-in-class range of over 205 miles in the WLTP cycle, ideal for those who work in the city and inner suburbs.

The van comes with one of two battery sizes – 50 and 75 kWh, an AC charging capacity of up to 11 kW, and up to 100 kW in DC, to charge the larger battery to 80% in just 45 minutes.

Given that the New Scudo's target audience is professionals using their vehicle for 8 hours or more per day, another aspect carefully considered in the design phase was comfort. The electric van aims to offer a stress-free experience at work, via various measures such as a car-like driving position, top level soundproofing, to minimize jolts and vibrations.

Although the van has been designed as an all-round commercial vehicle, it is also designed to feel like a car, with the advantage of offering smart, concrete solutions while maintaining compact dimensions. It is also available for passenger transportation for business or private use, being fully configurable with up to 9 seats. The seats are foldable to increase load capacity according to need.

The New Scudo is available in four configurations (Van, Crew Cab, Cab with platform and Combi M1), three trim levels (Easy, Business and Lounge), and four diesel engines on top of the electric powertrain. The entire range is available in an electric version, from the van to the cab, crew van and combi versions, the latter with up to 9 seats.
