Land Rover launches Defender PHEV

Land Rover has revealed specifications for its Defender Plug-in Hybrid. The new Defender P400e is both the most powerful and efficient model in the line-up, with an electric-only range of up to 27 miles.

Powered by a 2.0 litre petrol engine and 105 kW electric motor, the Defender P400e will get from 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds, but return 85.3 MPG and emit 74 g/km CO2.

Fitted with a 19.2 kWh battery, the Defender P400e features a CCS inlet, allowing for connection to DC charge points. This will see a charge to 80% completed in half an hour, or more conventionally, around two hours using a Type 2 cable.

Available with a choice of five or six seats, the P400e is able to tow up to 3,000kg, and carry a roof load of 168kg (dynamic) or 300kg (static). Pricing starts at £64,800, and is available to order now.
