Audi reveals UK details for new e-tron

Audi has announced details of UK specifications for its e-tron, due to arrive on these shores next year. The pure-electric SUV will see prices start at £71,490 for the standard model, though there will be Launch Edition and Edition 1 versions available for buyers too.

Prices for the Launch Edition will start at £82,240, and will include kit such as 'virtual door mirrors', a black styling back, 21-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, panoramic glass sunroof, and Matrix LED headlights.

Edition 1 models are limited to 30 examples in the UK, and those that have already put a deposit down for the e-tron will have first refusal. Included in the Edition 1 specification is four-zone climate control, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, acoustic glazing, and exclusive details such as Antigua blue metallic paint, orange brake calipers, and 21-inch turbine alloys.

All models come with a 95 kWh batter that can be charged at up to 150 kW on CCS rapid points. That battery gives an official WLTP range of 248 miles on a single charge, and powers two electric motors - one on each axle - producing a combined 300 kW for quattro all-wheel drive and a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds.

Order books open early next year, and the e-tron is set to rival models from Tesla and Jaguar in the premium EV market.
