Next Green Car Awards 2015 announced

The winners have been revealed for the Next Green Car Awards 2015, recognising the best green cars available this year.

Winners have been selected from 44 shortlisted models across ten categories, with a champion and commended car in each group. This year, 80 per cent of the winning and commended models emit less than 100 g/km CO2 at the tailpipe, with six plug-in models included among the 20 winners. The average CO2 emissions figure of the cars receiving an award is just 72 g/km CO2.

Ben Lane, Managing Editor at Next Green Car commented: "Despite the recent emissions scandal, the NGC Awards 2015 demonstrates that vehicle manufacturers are continuing to innovate and offer genuinely low emission models to UK car buyers. This is being enabled by the use of electric drivetrains as evidenced by the fact that 40 per cent of this year's winners are either a plug-in hybrid or a pure EV."

Take a look at the NGC Awards 2015 page to find out the winning models.
