8.9.2017Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Mazda, and Suzuki start scrappage schemes
The UK's car scrappage scheme has extended further with new manufacturers announcing they will be offering discounts to those buyers trading in older models. Mazda, Suzuki, Citroen, Peugeot, and DS Automobiles have all set up offers.
The PSA Group brands - Peugeot, Citroen, and DS - are offering up to £6,000, £6,400, and £5,500 off new cars respectively, when buyers trade in a petrol or diesel model registered before 2011.
Buyers can trade in any make of car as long as they have owned it for more than 90 days, with the offer running until the end of the year.
Vans are included in the scrappage scheme too, with up to £7,000 off the cost of a new Peugeot or Citroen van available. All vehicles part-exchanged will be scrapped and recycled by CarTakeBack.
Suzuki's scheme includes trade-in cars that are pre-Euro 5 emissions standard and registered before the end of 2009. Up to £2,000 off the cost of a new Suzuki model is available, with any make of petrol or diesel car able to be traded in, until the end of September.
Mazda is also using the pre-2010 registration system for its trade-in rules, though up to £5,000 is available off the cost of a new sub-130 g/km CO2 model. Ranges included in the offer are the Mazda's 2, 3, 5, 6, and CX-3.
Again, any brand of car can be traded in before 31st December, against a new petrol or diesel Mazda.
