22.8.2012 POD Point extends free EV charger offer

Following on from our recent story regarding POD Point's offer of free charging units to electric vehicle (EV) owners in London, they have extended the offer to plug-in car owners in East Anglia, the East and the West Midlands.
The POD Point charge points will be installed using a grant from the government's Plugged-In Places scheme, and the offer is available to electric or plug-in vehicle owners in Source East and Plugged-in Midlands regions.
The POD Point charge point is the Solo 2, the latest 'smart' communicating charge point, with in-built GPRS technology that allows two way communications between the charging point and an online account. This link enables electric and plug-in vehicle drivers to monitor how much energy they use, to remotely lock the charge point or to set charging schedules from a laptop, PC or mobile phone.
Publically available charging points continue to be installed across the country at an accelerating pace, making the prospect of owning a plug-in car seem more attractive. To see the locations of any charging point in the UK, see Next Green Car's Zap-Map.
The fully installed charge point is worth over £1,000, can be installed in the home or workplace, and is subject to a free site survey. To apply or ask any questions, phone POD Point on 0207 247 4114 with the requested installation address ready.
