18.7.2012 Lease a C-ZERO EV for £149/month

Lease a C-ZERO EV for £149/month

Through a promotional offer from Citroen, you can now lease a fully electric C-ZERO for just £149+VAT a month. This offer is available from Next Green Car's leasing partners, GKL Leasing.

In addition to various financial incentives associated with electric vehicles, the reduced monthly leasing cost means that overall running costs of a C-ZERO could be hard to beat – but be quick, there are only 150 cars remaining!

There will be an upfront payment of £447+VAT for the first month, and thereafter the monthly charge will be £149+VAT. This is based on an annual 10,000 mile non maintained allowance.

As with all battery electric cars, tailpipe CO2 emissions are zero, meaning that they are exempt from paying any VED road tax, both in the first year and thereafter. It also means no congestion charge fee for travelling in London, which can save regular London drivers over £2,500 a year.

If used as a company car the BIK rate is 0%, meaning that company car tax is also free. Businesses are also able to claim Enhance Capital Allowance on electric vehicles, meaning a company can write off the cost of the car against its taxable profits. Based on the current average cost of electricity in the UK, it would cost around 2-2.5 pence per mile to run – considerably cheaper than an equivalent sized conventionally powered car.

Based on the Mitsubishi 'i', the Citroen C-ZERO is essentially the same car as Mitsubishi's electric i-MiEV and Peugeot's iOn – just with a different badge. It has a 16 kWh lithium ion battery that powers a 47 kW synchronous electric motor. It is capable of a top speed of up to 80 mph and has a total driving range of around 93 miles.

The C-ZERO can be fully charged from a domestic power supply in 6 to 8 hours, which is most often performed overnight. Alternatively, a 50 kW DC rapid charger can be used that will charge the car to 80% in just 30 minutes. You can locate public charging points using Next Green Car's Zap-Map.
