15.3.2012 Volkswagen Up! now in UK showrooms

The award-winning new Volkswagen up! is now in UK showrooms. For £9,330 on-the-road, a 96 gCO2/km version will keep you exempt from road tax and London's congestion charge.

The range starts at £7,995 and rises to £11,180, whilst retail customers using Volkswagen's Finance Solutions PCP package can get into an up! from just £79 a month.

The up! citycar distils Volkswagen's values of quality, safety and value for money in a compact package, with clean and efficient engines, class-leading safety features and an innovative infotainment system.

It is available with two 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine options as well as a BlueMotion Technology version. There are three trim levels – Take up!, Move up! and High up! – plus special editions, the up! black and up! white. A five-door version will join the line-up later this year, along with an optional automatic gearbox.

The 96 gCO2/km version is the most efficient offering, and brings with it several financial incentives, in addition to low fuel bills. The official combined fuel economy figure is 68.9 mpg, but expect this to be a lower if driving around town. This keeps company car tax low and private road tax is free. Volkswagen say that a fully electric version is in the pipeline, which is an exciting prospect.

Th Up! comes with a three-year/30,000-mile fixed price servicing plan is available for £299. The Up! has already won the What Car? Car of the Year for 2012 award.
