9.3.2012 Next Green Car on YouTube

Appearing in a new short film about electric cars, Dr Ben Lane of Next Green Car provides an overview of their benefits, and outlines how electric technology may evolve in the future.
The short documentary, made as part of a student project at the University of Sunderland, and headed by Ben Jones, highlights how electric drive-trains may be the technology driving future vehicles.
With low running costs and up-front costs reducing time, electric vehicles are likely to become more suited to the average motorist's needs. With 100 miles of driving range already available from an over-night charge, and thousands of new on-street recharge locations, an increasing number of driver’s needs can be satisfied by electric cars.
Other industry experts speaking on the film also outline the advantages of owning an electric vehicle, noting the improved driving performance as compared to many standard cars, and that the reduced carbon emissions can be achieved with little compromise in driveability.
The film highlights the first electric models now available in the UK, including the Nissan LEAF, Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot iOn.
