16.2.2012 Peugeot launch fleet cars at Silverstone
Peugeot's new ultra-green 208 supermini, which boasts three diesels and one petrol engine under the magic 99 g/km mark and goes on sale in June, makes its UK fleet debut at the EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show at Silverstone on April 18th.
Peugeot will also unveil the 508 RXH with its latest ground breaking diesel-electric HYbrid4 technology at the Show to an expected audience of more than 500 fleet decision makers.
Peugeot Fleet Director, Phil Robson, said, "Peugeot sees Fleet World's EV & Low CO2 event at Silverstone as the perfect springboard to launch the new 208 and 508 Diesel HYbrid4 product."
"The event will allow customers to get up close and personal with our new editions, from the ultra low emissions of the new 208 engine line-up and the pioneering 508 RXH, a 200bhp, 4WD vehicle which emits a meagre 107g/km of CO2 and, for a 40% taxpayer, a BIK monthly cost of only £130."
The 508 RXH joins the ultra-low carbon offerings from a variety of manufacturers, including Toyota and Lexus, market leaders in hybrid powertrain development, who will have a number of their latest models on offer.
And the newest manufacturer to sign up, luxury car maker Infiniti, whose M35h hybrid saloon was best in class at last year's ALD Automotive / Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon, will also be at the Show.
The show will be an ideal event for fleet decision makers to gather a unique insight into the varied engine technologies that are available today, from the latest low carbon conventionally fuelled models to both petrol and diesel electric hybrids and pure battery electric options.
The EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show is being sponsored by the Energy Saving Trust in association with the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association, the trade association of the UK's leasing and rental industries. It will be based in the Silverstone Wing conference and event facility, situated in the heart of the Grand Prix Circuit.
Visitors will be able to test drive the latest petrol-electric hybrid cars, diesel-electric hybrids, fuel-cell hybrids and electric range-extenders, as well as the latest low-emission petrol and diesel engine vehicles. There will also be the opportunity to discuss future drivetrain strategies with leading motor manufacturers and find out more about low-emission light commercial vehicles.
There will also be a chance to speak to charging point suppliers and recharging infrastructure providers, to discuss the practicality of living with electric vehicles in a company fleet. Leading leasing suppliers of low-carbon vehicles will also be on hand.
The day will also include an interesting and informative seminar session presented by leading academics and top company executives. Full details will be announced nearer the event.
All test-driving of electric, plug-in hybrid and other low-CO2 vehicles will include two or three laps of the Stowe Circuit, a separate infield circuit with its own facilities, and there will be provision for visitors to book provisional test drives in advance directly with the relevant motor manufacturer.
