20.1.2012 2012 EV & Low CO2 Show dates confirmed

Fleet World magazine and the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association are to hold a free one-day event to encourage the uptake of electric and low carbon vehicles, especially into fleets.
The EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show is an annual event, and this year will be held at Silverstone race track in Northamptonshire on Wednesday 18th April. Manufacturers including Renault, BMW, Toyota, Lexus and Citroen are just a few that have confirmed attendance.
A number petrol-electric hybrids, diesel-electric hybrids, fuel-cell hybrids, electric cars and electric range extenders, as well as conventional low CO2 models will be on hand for demonstration.
Interest in these technologies is picking up pace, as fuel efficiency and reducing emissions becomes more important to fleets – the main aim of the show is to demonstrate the benefits of such vehicles and to show which models are available to buy today.
Ross Durkin, Managing Editor of Fleet World, explained, "Last year's EV Showcase was a tremendously successful event with more than double the number of visitors we planned for. But with so much interest in the EV sector at present we felt a move to Silverstone was needed to give us additional space and facilities in a first-class and easily accessible venue."
He added, "This year's EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show will allow company decision makers to evaluate all the options for their fleet by talking to the industry's leading experts in automotive technology. There's enormous potential for electric vehicles in the fleet sector – traditionally the earliest adopters of new vehicle technology.
"However, we also have to acknowledge that electric vehicles aren't right for everyone at this point in time and visitors to the show will also be able to get up-to-date information on all the other technologies currently available."
A wide range of ultra-low CO2 models will be available for visitors to test drive around the Stowe Circuit track, a separate infield track within Silverstone's main circuit. Professionals will be on hand to answer any questions and explain potential financial and environmental benefits of choosing such models.
There will be several exhibition stands which will provide fleet decision makers with the opportunity to seek advice on the most effective low carbon strategies.
