ALFA ROMEO MiTo
|Technology:||Petrol and Diesel|
|Launch Date:||April 2012|
The Alpha Romeo MiTo is getting Fiat's TwinAir 2-cylinder petrol engine to reduce its overall emissions and running costs. The TwinAir engine won the International Engine of the Year Award in 2011, as it is the smallest and greenest petrol engine in the UK. CO2 emissions drop to 98 g/km, partly thanks to technologies such as start-stop, meaning free VED road tax and free London Congestion Charge.
The 0.9 litre engine provides the MiTo with 85 bhp, suprising given the small size of the petrol unit. This small, green model retains the classy feel of an Alpha, meaning that it is likely to be a popular model in 2012.
